Sju Fjell Bergsystem
Sju Fjell Bergsystem vart danna i 2004, då dei to lidenskapelege reggae-selektørane Mastamann og Don Lima spelte saman på ein Cushion-kveld. Det viste seg at interessen for å grave fram dei diggaste låtane frå Jamaicas ufattelege katalog over musikk var felles, og ikkje minst synet på kva som er dei diggaste låtane!
Sidan den kvelden var Sju Fjell Bergsystem resident djs gjennom Cushion si storhetstid med fullt Kamelon og artistar som Iration Steppas, Jah Tubbys og mange andre på besøk.
I 2007 starta Sju Fjell Bergsystem klubben Aargh!! På Victoria, der interessen for gammal Jamaicapop og Roots frå 60- og 70-talet vart reindyrka, og vokalisten I-Vind vart fast innslag på Sju Fjell sine kveldar, samt gjestar som Reggae Scorcher, Sweet Soul Rocking, Rudie Sounds og Tiny T. Samstundes vart det spelt meir moderne Roots og Dancehall diverse stader rundt i byen.
I 2015 vart Sju Fjell sitt eige lydsystem ferdig etter fleire år med bygging, og reggae kunne spelast slik det skal, på eige 6000 watts lydsystem med heavy bass og sprø diskant. Lydsystemet vert jamnleg sett opp for å gje folket total reggaelyd, blant anna på Dwell. Samtidig rullar Aargh!! på ellevte året, utan planar om å legge inn årene.
Sju Fjell bergsystem speler alt frå 60-talets ska og rocksteady til 70-tals roots, 80 tals dancehall, og moderne roots, dancehall og steppers, med eitt syn på reggae som ein musikkform som til all tid dreg med seg arven frå tidlegare periodar. ROOTS.

Roastfish&Cornbread Sound System starta i 2005 og har siden da dratt med seg sine platebunker, effekter og hjemmesnekra høyttalere til gater, parker, fester og festivaler.
De starta i Sofienbergparken og kjellern på Løkka Bar & Pub (aka Vodoo Basement) og har stått bak utallige arrangementer siden da. I 2009 starta de ‘Oslo Dub Club’, og senere ‘Oslo Irie Festival’, begge med base i Hausmania Kulturhus. Siden sommern 2018 arrangerer de live reggae jam en søndag per måned “Crucial Sundays”, også på Hausmania.

Vi har hatt en voldsomt god respons på band og artister som har lyst til å bidra på scena til støtte for Karlsøy Prestegård - vi kunne ha laget en tredagersfestival om vi ville! Den observante har immidlertid fått med seg at samtlige artister har spilt på Karlsøyfestivalen iallefall en gang i løpet av sin karriere, hvilket vi har lagt som premiss for vår støttekonsert her nede. Vi er uansett ydmyke ovenfor oppmerksomheten så langt, og håper at dere alle finner veien til Blitz neste torsdag. Dørene åpner 19.00 og første band går på scena 19.30 sharp!

Karlsøya er en perle av en øy utenfor Tromsø som det ikke tar mange sekundene å forelske seg i, skulle man ende opp med å besøke denne nydelige gjengen med hippier, anarkister og andre selvbergere som siden 70-tallet har levd helt på siden av resten av konsum-samfunnet. Øya er muligens mest kjent for sin årlige Karlsøyfestival, som siden 1999 har vært en protest-festival - en markering av motstand mot et samfunn der de viktigste verdiene er lønnsomhet, konkurranse og grådighet.
Festivalens - og øyas - hjerte var på mange måter Karlsøy Prestegård, et nydelig gammelt trehus som i tillegg til å være hjemmet til Berit og Stein har huset tusenvis av tilreisende mennesker og som fungerte som hovedhus for svært mange av festivalens artister.
Natt til torsdag 4.oktober brant huset ned til grunnen, og vi her nede i sør som har tilknytning til øya ser oss programforplikta til å vise solidaritet med våre venner der oppe. ALT som Berit og Stein eide er borte. Et landemerke er borte. Ingen penger i verden kan erstatte Karlsøy Prestegård med alle dets minner - like fullt sender vi opp alle pengene fra døra til Berit og Stein for å bidra til at de iallefall kan skaffe seg de viktigste av livsnødvendigheter i den vanskelige tiden fremover.
Så kom til Blitz torsdag 18.oktober og vis solidaritet i praksis med en øy som i snart 50 år har vært et levende og fruktbart alternativ til resten av verdens galskap, og som nå har mistet et hjem, et landemerke og et uendelig antall minner.
100 kroner i døra, med mulighet for donasjon. Alt overskudd (alle pengene minus utgifter til bandmat) går uavkorta til Karlsøya.

Vi fortsetter “Kamp”-serien med presentasjoner og samtaler om alternative kulturarenaer og kunstens posisjon i en tid av populisme. Tirsdag den 16.oktober, får Hausmania Kulturhus etterlengtet besøk av Marco Baravalle som bland annet vil dele med seg av sine erfaringer med å starte og drifte en alternativ samtidskunst og kulturarena, S.a.L.E. Docks, i en av verdens mest populære turistmål- Venezia.

Marco Baravalle er medlem av S.a.L.E. “S.a.L.E.-Docks. Notes on Art And Activism In The Present”
MARCO BARAVALLE is a member of S.a.L.E. Docks, a collective and an independent space for visual arts, activism, and experimental theater, located in what had been an abandoned salt-storage facility in Dorsoduro, Venice.
Founded in 2007, its programming includes activist-group meetings, formal exhibitions, screenings, and actions.
In addition to managing the diverse programming at S.a.L.E. Docks, Baravalle is currently a research fellow at IUAV University of Venice. His fields of research include the relationship between art, theatre and activism.

In its own tempo
In Its Own Tempo er en kvartett bestående av Marina Poleukhina, Alexander Chernyshkov, Dario Fariello og Stefan Voglsinger. Kvartetten mixer lydmaterialer fra improvisasjon, samtidsmusikk og konkret musikk, “In its own tempo” prøver å utvide lytternes musikalske opplevelser utenfor konvensjonene til disse musikksjangrene.
Alexander Chernykhov og Marina Poleukhina, begge komponister og improvisatorer, forstørrer små eksisterende lyddetaljer - soniske “objet trouvé” - og omgjør dem til nye tydelige soniske biter som gjør dem til en viktig del av den musikalske helheten.
Dario Fariello åpner et “akustisk” vindu gjennom den varme og noen ganger eksplosive lyden av saxofonene hans, blander inn frijazz, impro-rock og øyeblikkelig komposisjon.
Han genererer melodiske lydkollasjer: hver nye musikalske setning dannes ved bruk av flere melodier, endringer av tempoer og lydkvaliteter.
Stefan Voglsinger fanger og manipulerer kvartettens lyder, bruker selvlagd elektronikk og dekonstruerer den musikalske diskursen videre.

Høstens vakreste eventyr finner sted torsdag 20. september! Da arrangerer bydelene langs Akerselva Elvelangs i fakkellys for nittende gang. Hvert år, torsdag nærmest høstjevndøgn, erstattes den elektriske belysningen langs Akerselva med 4000 fakler. Langs den ca 8 km lange turveien fra Frysja ved Brekkedammen til Vaterland på Grønland møter publikum på over 100 ulike kulturinnslag: lyskunst, flammer, installasjoner, musikk og dans. Både profesjonelle og amatører deltar. Publikum kan starte hvor de vil bare man følger strømmen NEDOVER langs elva. Arrangementet er gratis og er støttet av Oslo kommune.

Torsdag den 13.september har vi gleden av å ta emot kunstneren Thierry Geoffroy som kommer til Kulturhuset Hausmania
for å presentere noen av sine kunstneriske strategier og prosjekt. Thierry vil snakke om sine erfaringer med intervensjoner i kunsten og samfunnet, hvordan man trener opp sin “Bevissthets-muskel”, Han vil presentere sine seneste prosjekt og noen av de tidligaste. Det blir film, diskusjon og mulighet for å teste ut et eller flere av kunstnerens debattformat***!

Thierry Geoffroy er en Fransk/Dansk kunstner som bor og arbeider i Danmark . Siden 1989 har han haft en ekstensiv utstillingvirksomhet ved gallerier, institusjoner og biennaler verden rundt. Han deltok ved documenta Athen og Kassel, de siste tre Venezia biennaler ( invitert av forskjellige lands paviljonger) og han stiller også jevnligt ut i København der han bor.
I 2017 hade han en større presentasjon av prosjektet The Anatomy of Prejudice-på Interkulturelt Museum i Oslo. Dette er et 5-
årig prosjekt i utvikling som omhandler fordommer og xenofobi.

Thierry var med på utstillingen KAMP på Podium i Juni- da med The Emergency Room Dictionary- et leksikon der kunstneren presenterer sine visjoner for en kunst som går ut fra mer involvering av kunstneren som samfunnsmedborgere. Den utgår fra en kunst basert på en annen kunstnerrolle, en struktur der kunstneren kan reagere på politikk og nødsituasjoner her , akkurat nå, og en kunst som fungerer som en nerve hvor kunstneren blir testet for demokrati hele tiden.

Temaet er også tett knyttet til Hausmanias identitet og til samtidens situasjon for kunstnere der gentrifisering og markedskrefter gjør at bykjerner verden over tømmes for kultur i takt med at leiepriser stiger og tilgjengelige rommene for fri kunst forsvinner.
Thursday the 13th of September we have the pleasure of hosting the artist Thierry Geoffroy at Kulturhuset Hausmania, where he will present some of his artistic strategies and projects.Thierry will talk about his experiences with interventions in the artworld and society and how to train the awareness muscle. He will present recent projects as well as show us some of his previous works.
And there will be a chance to try out some of the different artformats invented by the artist, maybe a critical run , slowdance debate, or both !

Thierrys visit to Oslo is the first in a series of presentations by practioners with experiences from working within various venues and arenaes for dissemination of art and culture.
Thierry participated in the exhibition “Kamp-min,din og alle andres/ Struggle- mine yours and all the others” in June 2018 at Podium as a part of the Hausmania festival. The title Kamp (struggle) refers to the exhibition’s focus on activism in the form of art projects that deal with different forms of “struggle”. The work shown explores and highlight the struggle for existence in different forms and different times in history.The theme is also closely linked to Hausmania’s identity and to the contemporary situation of artists where gentrification and market forces make city centers emptied throughout the world as rental prices rise and available rooms for free art disappear.
The project Kamp, exhibition and talks are made possible with support from Oslo City /Kulturetaten and Fritt Ord .
In the exhibition Thierry was represented with the Emergency Room dictionary and the the window text ” Emergency will replace the contemporary”
Is it relevant to ask today : Has the emergency already replaced the contemporary? Where is the room for free art in a society in crisis?
In the Emergency Room Dictionary artist Thierry Geoffroy / aka Colonel unfolds his visions about establishing an art that will be more citizen-ˇlike, an art based on another artist role, a structure where the artist could be able to react on politics and emergencies right here, right now, and an art that functions like a nerve where the artist will be constantly testing democracy. Beside its recipe aspect, envisaged to encourage and establish emergency art,the dictionary also, boldly and humorously, describes the atmosphere of the art world today:the destructive coolness, the apathy, the sponsors? influence.
Thierry Geoffroy, also known as “Colonel”is a French/Danish artist, living in Copenhagen, Denmark. He is using a wide variety of media including video and installations, often collaborative with other artists.Thierry has developed what he calls “format art”, since the format of the artwork is the artwork.In 1989 he wrote a manifest on five types of moving exhibitions (Manifeste - Les differents Types de moving Exhibitions). The formats generally involve many participants and are designed to investigate social psychology (e.g., conflicts, collaboration). He has particiated in many large art events all over the world in venues like PS1 NY, MOMA New York, Moderna Museet Stockholm, Manifesta , documenta Athens,documenta Kassel, the last three Biennials in Venice-and he is also very active with exhibitions in Copenhagen where he lives. In 2017 he opened a larger installation , The Anatomy of Prejudice at Interkulturelt Museum/IKM in Grønland in Oslo. What is an art format? An art format is a framework developed by the artist and based on a set of rules and involvement of participants. The art format is both a framework and an artwork in itself.“An art format is a strategic artistic response to the globalization” says Thierry Geoffroy/ COLONEL. This means that the format is a replicable model or formula and can, in dialog with the artist, also be activated without the artist’s physical presence.
Some of the most known art formats created by Thierry Geoffroy /COLONEL are EMERGENCY ROOM (mostly for art museums), CRITICAL RUN (mostly for urban space), SLOW DANCE DEBATE (conferences), EXTRACTEUR (research-based projects). All of the formats are training the awareness muscle by stimulating the participant’s reflection. The fundamental bricks for the art formats especially the connection between life and art, the flexibility of exhibition platform and involvement of others can be found in a manifesto, written by the artist in 1989, in which he describes several types of moving exhibitions.

Ata is a DJ and founder of the labels Playhouse, Klang, Ongaku. He also runs the 250-capacity Robert Johnson club in Offenbach, Frankfurt-Am-Main, one of the world’s premier techno clubs.
Ata started DJing in the late eighties. In 1992 he founded the record shop Delirium with Heiko Schäfer, aka Heiko M/S/O, where he established the labels Ongaku Musik, Klang Elektronik and Playhouse in 1993. Together with Heiko Schäfer and Jörg Henze, he DJed variously as Delirium Posse, Heiko & Ata, Ata & Jörg and Heiko & Jörg.
Beside DJing, Ata founded the first ‘real’ clubnight in Frankfurt for modern house and deep house, the Wild Pitch Club at the Nachtleben-Club. After years of parties he closed the concept and opened the Robert-Johnson 1999. Through the DJ he has booked, his own DJ sets and the club itself, he made the Robert-Johnson to one of the most important clubs worldwide for electronic music.

Esther Silex – deejay extraordinaire,
Colognian woman-about-town and very dear new addition to the Studio Barnhus family. She has an unquestionable status as an impassioned powerhouse with enough West German swagger to create timeless music with equal..
“Dance, dance otherwise we are lost” the larger than life modern dance choreographer and ballet director Pina Bausch once said. The Cologne based DJ and producer Esther Silex deeply believes in those words of wisdom and took the statement as one of many inspirations behind her debut EP “Pachamama” for Sweden’s finest free spirited electronic music label Studio Barnhus.
The EP title refers to the old mother earth goddess of the indigenous people of the Andes, who is an independent deity that has her own creative power to sustain life on planet earth. For Silex she is a divineness that follows her on each and every step as a female with groove in her heart.
After a nomadic upbringing all around Europe she started to play records at the tender age of 17 and quickly became an integral part of Cologne’s house and techno scene. Her sets are anything but predictable, with an eclectic selection that somehow weaves seamlessly through techno and house to soul, funk, afro and disco. The three tracks named ‘Hans’, ‘Heinrich’ and ‘Oskar’ of her debut release, reflect this musical diversity and don’t adhere to any formula, whilst remaining entirely and explosively dance floor friendly.

Narcis Junior
Narcis Junior is one of the pionners of electronic music in his home country, Bosnia and Herzegovina. His first dj skills were in Lonodn’s underground clubs in mid 90’s. Sets that he is performing are full of energy and no one can remain unaffected.
Also his production has been described by one of the leading record labels in Europe, Decoded Records: ”His styles with crisp, modern production are always oriented to the dancefloor! We are really happy to have him on board once again.”
His EP ”In CV we trust” was no. 1 and top selling EP on juno.co.uk for 4 weeks. Soon after that he was booked all over the Europe.
As well he was promoting parties in his home town bringing some of the finest and world famous DJ’s like: Umek, Valentino Kanzyani, Kevin Saunderson, La Dida, Barry Asworth, DJ Preach, etc.
Narcis Junior signed up a contract with one of the leading labels in Europe, Decoded Records.
For more then decade Narcis Junior is working with Jonny Wilson aka Eclectic Method. Between them they did offical Rmx’s for U2, Fatboyslim, Benny Benassi, Chuck D(Public Enemy) and Dub Pistols.

Charlie Roennez
Roennez`s love for music began at an early age when he was exposed to a vast variety of music as a youth. Roennez was provided with a unique musical base filled with selections from every genre of music. At the age of sixteen, Roennez started as a dj building his own collection that included all types of music ranging from traditional to hitlist music and then experimented with his taste by playing his chosen selections in genres like house, r&b and dancemusic. By college he honed his natural given talent for selecting and playing music by working as a dj for events & nightclubs.
Past the years Roennez have build an competence in music by running a music store for 4 years and been working in the nightclub industry the past 17 years working his way up to leader position. And all the way the music has followed him.
During this years playing as often as possible as a dj..

Roennez `s lidenskap for musikk begynte i ung alder da han lyttet til et stort utvalg av musikk som ungdom. Roennez var utstyrt med en unik musikalsk base fylt med utvalg fra alle sjangre av musikk. I en alder av seksten begynte Roennez som dj å bygge sin egen samling som inkluderte alle typer musikk som spenner seg fra det tradisjonelle til hitlistemusikk og eksperimenterte med egen smak sin ved å spille sine favorittsjangere som house, r&b og dancemusic. Med årene har han finpusset dette, ved å spille som dj for utallige arrangementer og nattklubber rundt om i Norge.
Siste årene har Roennez bygd en kompetanse i musikk ved å drive en musikkbutikk i 4 år og jobbet i utelivsbransjen de siste 17 årene og arbeidet seg opp til ledende posisjoner. Og hele veien musikken har fulgt ham.

Wilhelm a Tanzanian/Swedish. Now Oslo based DJ/producer.
Has since he was a kiddo had a big interest & passion in all kind’s of music.
It started out in the 90s with italo disco, house n dance. After a few years with with rnb & hip hop he found his way to punk, ska, 2-step & reggae in the late teens.
But now he is clearly starting to find his own sound. And the path is mostly minimalistic, deep, groovy with a slight touch of disco. With a group of friends I ran a dj crew from 5th-7th grade, we built everything from the cd racks to the speakers. Then we played on different occasions mostly youth clubs. After then the interest never really grew until I moved back to Oslo.
Spent last summer at Ibiza, playing at Various Clubs and villas around the Island. Such as Plastik & Ocean beach. I am a frequent raver and a true supporter of the scene, who loves to travel the world listening to music.
That has and is going to keep evolving my musical exploration.

Nilseus is an Oslo based underground producer with something of an ear for a tune. Since moving from his hometown of Budapest, he started to working on he’s project, and released some tunes on Blindfold Recordings, Ardor, Doppelgeanger, Frequenza, and he’s upcoming EP called Myra, will coming soon on John Digweed’s Bedrock Records. On an icy cold but sunny bright February morning, Robbin was born in the southern town Ystad, Sweden. Running around doing flips and cartwheels was combined with playing the French horn in an orchestra and drumming in a hardcore punk band. After music high school Crussen was away from it for a few years until he picked it up again when having moved to Oslo, Norway in 2005. Producing became daily activity two years of sound design studies in Oslo lead to a bachelor in Popular Music and Record Production in Southampton, UK. This was followed by a master’s degree in the same field at Kingston University, London.

NILS NOA
Any standard DJ Biography extols the virtues of it’s subject so avoiding clichés is a difficult one, especially when considering an artist like Norway’s Nils Noa who has followed a similar path as many but has done so with fantastic success.
Currently the co-owner of Troll Records alongside fellow Norwegian Christian Sol as well as a DJ/Booker at Oslo’s superb The Villa, Nils Noa has had a multifaceted career which has seen him develop a teenage passion of electronic music beautifully. It’s likely that his few years of playing high-level football (soccer) in Norway, or his years in electronic/pop act Bermuda Triangle that has created a firm resolve and work ethic for Nils Noa but it’s a certainty that resolve and work ethic, alongside passion and talent, have played a huge part in his career.
Driven by a varied and non-discrimantory vinyl addition as well as the age old fake-ID fuelled trips to the local house music mecca (in this case the legendary deep house night Skansen and it’s DJ G-Ha – now a respectful colleague of Noa), Nils started his first night as soon as he was old enough. Monkey Business (an apt title for a night created by the playful Oslo resident) quickly became an internationally recognised affair as well as a local hit and Djs such as Paul Woolford, Yousef, James Zabiela, Nic Fanciulli and many more passed through its doors – in most cases before they became the household names they are now.
During the Monkey Business period Nils started to win international support, even becoming the youngest artists to grace The Essential Mix turntables at the time. A steadily increasing schedule marked the end of Monkey Business but the beginning of an exciting stage that to date has seen Nils play in over 20 countries worldwide.
Balancing touring, The Villa, Troll and a burgeoning production schedule has been second nature and now Nils is an artist that can be banked on. His music is frequently winning support from a cross section of Djs and there’s an feeling of more success to come.

Dromedar is an Oslo based trio, well recognized for their hard hitting and mesmerizing live shows in the cross between art-rock, bass funk, psychedelic rapture, and jazz sensible activist punk. (Other times mythical-poetical (Tommy Olsson).
On the upcoming album “Human Condition,” which apart from the debut relies heavily on analog synthesizers, the group is expanding their musical playground with dada mix style fusion dance music, bringing expulsion of corrupted xenophobic forces into sudden ritualistic behaviour.
The group’s novel utilization of a wide spectrum of influences and their visually striking shows makes Dromader one of the promising up-and-coming bands to emerge from the underground music scene of Oslo in later years.
